EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

September 2002-Present: Freelance photographer for multiple corporate, labor, non-profit, government and private clients.

September 2001 to September 2002: Temporary position, photographer/consultant, Michigan State University (MSU). Overhauled photo department from wet dark room to digital technology. Provided images for web, brochures and multiple publications.

July 1995 to September 2001: Freelance news photographer; clients include: Associated Press, Time,Newsweek, Harpers, Esquire, UAW, AFL-CIO, TV Nation and dozens of others; Web page designer, WXYZ-TV, Detroit's ABC affiliate; Detroit Sunday Journal (Newspaper Guild 22's strike newspaper.)

1983 to July 1995: Detroit Free Press staff photographer. General assignments. Did several combat and overseas assignments in such locations as Nicaragua, El Salvador, Palestine and Israel.

1984 to 1985: Taught photography at the Center for Creative Studies, Wayne State University, and Casa Del Unidad.

1980 to 1983: Photo stringer for United Press International (UPI)

AWARDS

Nominated five times and runner-up twice for the Pulitzer Prize.

Named 1990 Michigan Press Photographer of the Year.

Received dozens of awards from the AP, UPI, Michigan Press Photographers Association, Detroit Press Club.
