Welcome to the web site of Daymon J. Hartleydaymonjhartley.com daymon is a seasoned photojournalist and multi-media specialist who brings sensitivity, humor and a drive for justice to his work. As a staff photographer for the Detroit Free press and freelancer for many corporate, labor, government, non-profit and private clients, daymon has worked in every facet of photography. He has covered the ups and downs of the city of Detroit, the violence and struggle in the Middle East, the political turmoil in Central America. He also is experienced in celebrity photojournalism and portraits, wedding and family images. He was nominated five times and runner-up twice for the Pulitzer Prize. He was named Michigan Press Photographer of the Year and has received dozens of awards from the Ap, Upi, MPPA and Detroit Press Club.
